Prosecutors allege Burke arranged ongoing contact—allegedly paying a junior high student to deliver a phone—and that the teen traveled with him to Las Vegas, London and Texas and spent weekends at his Hollywood Hills home in 2024. Court filings cite text exchanges referencing sex, pregnancy, abortion and use of emergency contraception.

Charges and court status

Authorities allege the teen died on April 23, 2025; her remains were later found in the front trunk of Burke’s impounded Tesla on Sept. 8, 2025. The medical examiner reported multiple penetrating injuries and ruled the death a homicide. Burke, who has pleaded not guilty, faces charges including murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. He is held without bail; a preliminary hearing is set for May 26 and a status conference for May 12. His attorneys say he was not the cause of death and will mount a vigorous defense.
