Bassist John Taylor, 65, and keyboardist Nick Rhodes, 63, who formed the group in 1978, describe the band as a family. They recall the thrill of tight, small stages and the democratic way they develop songs, with Simon Le Bon and Roger Taylor later joining and remaining part of the lineup.
"Free to Love" will get its first live airing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on April 29. The group plays BeachLife Festival on May 1, then a four-night Fontainebleau residency in Las Vegas through May 9, followed by summer European dates. Taylor suggests more music may wait, calling the current output a remarkable continuation of a long career.
