Reed told Variety the movie, which covers Jackson's life from the 1960s through 1988, turns the facts upside down and cannot be viewed as a credible rebuttal to Leaving Neverland. He says an earlier attempt to make a direct retort collapsed, and the final product became a jukebox-style film that doesn't explain Jackson's close relationships with young boys.
