Reminders of their past

Earlier that week Prince William visited Wales, a place with special meaning for the couple. William and Kate lived in a rented home on Anglesey for about three years around the time of their 2011 wedding. The pair first met while studying at the University of St Andrews, dated for some time, became engaged in 2010 and married at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011.

More recent celebrations

The anniversary comes shortly after the family marked Prince Louis' 8th birthday on April 23 with a portrait and a video filmed during a seaside vacation in Cornwall showing Louis digging in the sand and playing cricket. Last year the couple spent their anniversary in Scotland, where as the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay they were seen enjoying time in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull.
