Royal rules on autographs

While Kate will sign cards and guest books during official duties, members of the royal family do not give public autographs. When fans ask, she politely declines — as she explained at the Chelsea Flower Show in 2022: "My name’s Catherine… I’m not allowed to write my signature — it’s just one of those rules." She and William more often choose selfies, conversations and hands-on moments instead.
